BUY IT!! Excellent fire pit., August 30, 2009 This review is from: Sojoe Rustic Firepit-stars & Moon (Kitchen) We've owned our Sojoe firepit for several years now, and it was an excellent purchase. I strongly recommend this firepit.
The firepit has held up very well over the years. The grill is well made, non-warping, and well-fitted to the fire pit. We have a nice BBQ, so we thought we wouldn't use the grill for the firepit. But we use it all the time, and it's really great for large gatherings when we get both BBQs going. We also love the screen. We live in a wooded area, and it makes us feel better that large embers can't float out of the fire. The best part is the waterproof cover, though. You have to have one, or the firepit will be a nightmare. It is a major pain to be scooping water and wet ash out of the bottom of a firepit. Plus, wet ash can corrode the bottom of the pit, so you want to be able to keep some dry sand on the bottom. 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful We paid more and bought locally., June 10, 2007 By We bought our firepit at the local garden supply store, it was only about $25 more- but we could see it in person before purchase. We have it out in our yard over the sand from the sandbox that our kids outgrew. We have only used it a couple times so far this summer, but we love it. It will be even nicer when we can't go camping in the fall (because I also work weekends during the school year). It burns great, looks great, seems well constructed and we look forward to many years of use. We bought the moon & stars pattern, but there are many different designs available to suit your tastes.

Make sure your deck is well protected however. I use a circular piece of Hardy Panel (fiber cement board) nailed to 4X4s. The deck doesn't even get warm but we sure do. Can't beat the price compared to our local home and garden retailer.
